Restoration

Restoration

How It Works
I inspect the affected areas on-site, identify underlying causes (damp, movement, rot) and explain repair options that preserve the original fabric.
Why Choose us for Restoration?
Authentic finishes
Repairs are carried out with matching profiles and materials so cornices, skirtings, mouldings and joinery read as original, not patched.
Personal, reliable service
A sole-trader approach means you get direct communication, consistent standards and a tradesman on-site with over 20 years' industry experience.
Trust-first approach
No deposit required, fully insured with public liability cover up to £2,000,000, and two free colour samples to help you choose the right finish.
What I restore — I repair and restore decorative and structural elements affected by wear, water damage, settlement or accidental damage. Typical work includes cornices and plaster mouldings, skirting and architrave repair, damaged staircases and balustrades, timber sash re-puttying, single-glaze re-puttying, window-frame splices, rotten timber repair, patching historic plaster and replacing damaged coving. Work is suited to period properties in Guildford as well as modern houses and small commercial premises.
How I work — I select materials appropriate to the building: lime-based mixes for older solid-wall properties, gypsum finishes where modern substrates demand, and compatible timber repairs for joinery. Preparation is thorough — mould and stain blocking where needed, consolidation of loose plaster, and careful profile reproduction so new work blends with existing detail. Two free colour samples help you choose a final coat, and I provide a clear quote after the survey. I operate within a one-hour drive of Guildford and carry public liability cover up to £2,000,000.
